A Study, "Effects of Vernalization on Some Vegeta-ble Crops" such as lettuce, mustard ,and radish was conducted to determine the effect of vernalization on the vegetative growth and flowering of these vegetables. The experiment was conducted at Barangay Luciano, Trece Martires City, Cavite from November, 1979 to Janua-ry, 1980. About 108 garden pots were prepared and filled with garden soil. The garden pots were divided into three groups, 36 garden pots composed each replication. The seeds began to germinate four days for mustard and radish, five days for lettuce. On the second week, it was observed that radish grew faster and taller. But in the succeeding weeks, Treatment 4 (72 hours vernalized) of mustard grew vigorously and flowered earlier with great-er number of leaves followed by the other treatments. Lettuce in Treatment 4 also showed faster growth, obtained greater number of leaves and flowered earlier as compared to other treatments. Vernalization had no effect on radish which didn't bear flowers at all.
