Cavite State University. April 2012. Ms. Mary Grace Eyaya. <br/>The study was conducted to find out the social factor and emotional maturity of married teenager in selected barangays in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to 1) describe the demographic profile in terms of a) age, b) gender, c) occupation and d) educational attainment; 2) determine the factors affecting early marriage in terms of a) mass media, b) family, c) church and d) peers; 3) determine the emotional maturity of married teenagers and 4) determine the relationship of social factor and emotional maturity of married teenager. <br/>A descriptive-correlational design was used in this study wherein the variables were studied in a sample of 150 married teenagers in selected barangays in Dasmarinas City, Cavite from January 2012 to February 2012 using self-made and modified questionnaires. The questionnaire was divided into two (2) parts. The first part includes the profile of the respondents such as age, gender, occupation and educational attainment with 35 items to determine the social factors affecting early marriage. The second is to determine the emotional maturity of the respondents consisting 35 items. <br/>The results revealed that the social factors really affect the teenager to marry at the very young age. It is also revealed that the emotional maturity of the teenager falls in average level and it was found out that social factor and emotional maturity of married teenager were not significantly related.<br/> |
