Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2015. Adviser: Ms. Gladys G. Perey.<br/><br/>The study was conducted from June 2014 to May 2015 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to provide quality system in teaching Ecotourism subject as well as to<br/>give solutions to the problems met by the Ecotourism instructors and Bachelor of Science in Tourism students.<br/><br/>The methodology used in the software development was the Iterative Development Model which is composed of the following phases: planning, requirements analysis and design, program coding, test and evaluation.<br/><br/>The e-learning in Ecotourism subject for College of Education in Cavite State University Indang Cavite is composed of five modules. The account management module for levels of access and profile management, content management module that handles lesson management and for different medias that the system can provide, assessment module which holds quiz and assignment, collaborative module which serves as their standard way of communicating to each other, and the report module which is responsible for generating different reports.<br/><br/>The system was developed through the use of different applications; MYSQL for the database management system, PHP as the scripting programming language, Adobe<br/>Photoshop CS6 for the design and interface of the system, Macromedia Dreamweaver for coding, Adobe Flash for animations, and Google Chrome as the default browser.<br/><br/>The system was evaluated based on the following criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability. Evaluators were composed of the following: department chairperson, instructors and students of College of Education in Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. The system passed all the given criteria in the evaluation and met all the requirements of the software.<br/><br/>E-learning in Ecotourism for College of Education in Cavite State University Indang, Cavite has developed to enhance and automates the manual process in managing school records and speed up all the transactions in the institution and its level of acceptability is “excellent”. The proponents recommend adding a forum with video conference for instructor and students interaction; including a notification if there are new announcements, lecture/lessons, and assessment posted to the account of the student; and connect with the Cavite State University official site so that students can access the system easily.<br/> |
