This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of community newspaper in Chavacano language tor Ternate, Cavite. Specifically, this aimed to determine the needs of Ternate, Cavite for a community newspaper as perceived by the selected residents in terms of their demographic profile and preferences; to determine the capability of the municipality to establish a community newspaper in terms of budget and manpower; and to determine the readership of the community newspaper in Chavano among residents of Ternate, Cavite. Proportionate sampling or proportionate stratification was utilized to select the two percent of the total population of each barangay in Ternate, Cavite via Slovin's Formula and the 10 municipal employees from different departments which includes: Municipal Budget OtTice, HR and P E.S.O, Public Information Office, Accounting Treasure's Office, COMELEC and Municipal Registrar Office who participated in the interview, were chosen through purposive sampling. Based on the findings, participants believed that they need to have a monthly tabloid type community newspaper written in Chavacano and Filipino which could Inform them on news, entertainment, sports and jobs. They find the establishment of a community newspaper necessary in keeping themselves informed regarding their community. The newspaper should reflect an understanding of community ethos, history- culture, and values, among others. The municipality of Ternate is capable of allotting around 5,000 to 10,000 pesos in the establishment and publication and may get additional funds from sponsorship of private agencies or non-government agencies if necessary. They wanted to compensate the volunteer staff through sponsorships. The community newspaper in Chavacano's readability was attested by majority of the participants said they would read the community newspaper written in Chavacano. Among them, can speak Chavacano and do not know how to speak but can understand Chavacano. Although the participants showed interest, need and patronage for a community newspaper in Chavacano no matter what age group they may be in, the municipality was not capable enough in terms of manpower and the publication was not feasible in accordance with the participants' need.
