Abstract: ABELLAR, LORDLEY M. and AMPARO, REY F. Design and Analysis of Cantilever Retaining Wall along Santa Clara Subdivision Riverside at Barangay Santa Clara, General Trias City, Cavite. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Engr. Renato B Cubilla. The study was conducted from December 2016 to February 2017 at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to provide a design and analysis of cantilever retaining wall along the riverside of Santa Clara Subdivision at Barangay Santa Clara, General Trias City, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. investigate the existing condition of soil on the riverside; 2. design a cantilever retaining wall that will maintain the stability of soil; 3. provide the estimated cost of the proposed cantilever retaining wall: 4. provide development site in Santa Clara Subdivision riverside; and 5. provide a tarpaulin of the proposed cantilever retaining wall. Interview of the residents and resource persons were conducted to know the current condition of the riverside. The length and exact location of the proposed reinforced concrete retaining wall were determined through surveying. Researches were also conducted to gather information for the analysis and design of cantilever retaining wall. The design and analysis of cantilever retaining wall along Santa Clara Subdivision riverside at Barangay Santa Clara, General Trias City, Cavite has an overall span of 217.50 meters. The design of base, stem, heel and toe of cantilever retaining wall was considered in the study. Three types of retaining wall designs were made, design no.1 with a height of 8.00 m, design no. 2 with a height of 7.50 m and design no. 3 with a height of 7.00 m. The total estimated cost for cantilever retaining wall design cantilever retaining wall design 2 and cantilever retaining wall design 3 was P6,945,699.36, P6,363,887.71, and P3.999,439.28 respectively. The overall total estimated cost for the three proposed designs of cantilever retaining wall was P17,309,026.35. . A detailed analysis of the design guidelines, procedure and specifications was applied in the study. The parameters used were carefully studied and detailed to arrive at an efficient and effective design. In the design and analysis of the cantilever retaining wall, ultimate strength design was used. Detailed structural drawings, structural design, detailed surveying, design specification and detailed estimates were included in the study. A tarpaulin which contains the illustration of the physical appearance of the proposed cantilever retaining wall was then provided and presented after the completion of the analysis and design process.
