Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Mr. Joven E. Dicen. The purpose of this study was to present an overview of the research on level of effectiveness of Expanded Student's Grant-In-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) Scholarship to the Underprivileged Youth at Cavite State University. The study generally aimed to determine the effectiveness of Expanded Student's Grants in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) scholarship to underprivileged youth at Cavite State University-Main Campus. Specifically, its objectives were to: 1) evaluate the level of effectiveness of ESGP-PA in Cavite State University; 2) determine the problems encountered by the Expanded Students Grant-In-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) scholars; 3) determine the effects of the program in life of the beneficiaries and their families; and 4) solicit suggestions on ways to improve the program. The collected data served as basis of the computed results. The study utilized the focus group discussion (FGD) and descriptive analysis. The study was composed of 201 participants coming from different colleges. It was used to describe, interpret, explain the conditions of the beneficiaries, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of ESGP-PA in Cavite State University. The research found out that the effectiveness of scholarship to the underprivileged students helped them and gave a big impact in changing their lives. The researcher perceived that the program of Expanded Student's Grants-In-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation was a firm foundation of the government in developing the country and strengthening the capability of the government that could make a change by alleviating poverty. It was convincing that the program really changed their lives. As part of their suggestions for further improvement of the program, they wished that the beneficiaries would learn how to manage the cash grants they received, and how to use it wisely. It resulted that the program was very much effective. It meant the national government successfully implemented the program. This can contribute to the development of the country.
