Abstract: ABSTRACT ESEQUE, ALYSSA R. "Personality Trait, Stress Level and Driving Behavior of Bus Drivers in Erjohn and Almark Transit Corp.". Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science Major in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. S.Y. 2012-2013. Ms. Evalyne A. Rodriguez. The study sought to determine the personality trait, stress level and driving behavior of bus drivers in Erjohn and Almark Transit Corp. Descriptive-correlational was used in this study. It was conducted and administered among ninety (90) bus drivers in Erjohn and Almark Transit Corp. Frequency counts, mean and percentage, standard deviation and Spearman-rank test were used as statistical treatment in the study. The study revealed that majority of the participants were "neurotic" which could be due to their fear of causing any problems while driving. It also revealed that the bus drivers have high level of stress which could be due to different priorities and demands they need to fulfill. Additionally, it revealed that violation was the common driving behavior of the participants which could be due to time pressures. Furthermore, personality trait has nothing to do with stress level and driving behavior of bus drivers. However, stress level is correlated with the overall driving behavior. Bus drivers are encouraged to continue maximum tolerance to be able to drive more competently on the road. The management is recommended to provide specific programs to develop and uplift the personality of their existing bus drivers. The commuting public is encouraged to establish a better interpersonal relationship to avoid conflict with them. For future researchers, they may include other bus companies as population to have a deeper understanding on the variables included in the study.
