This study aimed primarily to determine the expectations in extension of farmers in Indang, Cavite from the Don Severino Agricultural College. The other objectives were: 1) To find out the problems in farming of the farmers in Indang, Cavite; 2) "0 find out the ways by which the College has helped farmers in solving their problems in farming by providing extension services; and 3) To determine the relationship between the farmers! perceived degree of need for help in solving problems in their farms and some selected factors. Four barrios were selected as research areas for this study. These barrios were Buna Lejos, Calumpang Lejos, Dainc, and Tambo, A 20 percent sample of all possible respondents from each barrio was taken using systematic random sampling. The sample yielded a total of 108 respondents. The most~frequently-aentioned problems of the farmers were about the control of pest and diseases of plants and animals and lack of production inputs. Also, many farmers had problems in marketing their farm products and in communication, Tew farmers in the study reported problems in agrarian relations, The College seemed to be weak in extension. Very few farmers sought help from the school to solve their problems in farming. However, almost all of the forms of assistance that they requested were granted by the College. Almost all of the farmers who had problems in farming felt that they needed help to solve these problems. Perception of need for help, however, was only significantly associated with the age, number of dependents, and size of farm being tilled by the farmers. Gross income and experience in farming were not significantly related to perception of need for help although there seemed to be a trend of relationship between these variables. Educational attainment and tenure status seemed not related to perception of need for help by the respondents. The farmers who felt a need for help in dealing with problems in their farms thought that the College can provide them with the assistance needed to solve their problems. Accordingly, they were expecting the College to extend various services to them. The expectations expressed by the farmers. 4 involved solutions to their problems in farming.
