Factors affecting the course preference among selected senior students of high school in Indang, Cavite SY 2005-2006. Adviser: Mr. Renato T. Agdalpen. The study entitled " Factors affecting the course preference among selected senior students of high school in Indang, Cavite SY 2005-2006" was conducted in selected secondary schools in Indang, Cavite from November 2005 to January 2006. The study aimed to: 1) determine the demographic profile of the respondent students in terms of age, gender, civil status and course preference; 2) identify the factors that affect the course preference of the respondent students in terms of family factors, economic factors, social factors, and school factors; and 3) find out the significant effects to the course preference of the respondent. A total of 174 respondents which was eighty percent (80%) from each school, fifty nine (59) from CvSU Science High School, thirty two (32) from Indang National High School, forty (40) from Saint Gregory Academy, and forty three (43) from Perpetual Cavite Institute were considered in this study. Based on the findings most of the respondents age range from 15-16 years, female and all of them were single. Furthermore, majority of the respondents ranked nursing as first preferred course of the respondents. Engineering ranked second and psychology ranked third. Moreover, the result shows that forty eight (48) or twenty eight percent (28%) of the respondents from Cavite State University Science high school preferred to study at University of the Philippines. Forty two (42) or twenty four percent (24%) of the respondents from Perpetual Cavite Institute and Indang National high school preferred to study at Cavite State University and twenty five (25) or fourteen percent (14%) of the respondents from Saint Gregory Academy preferred to study at De La Salle University. On the whole, the study shows that family factors such as order of birth and family involvement in the course preference have a significant effect on the course preference of students. Economic factors such as employment status of parents and monthly income of parents also show a significant effect with computed X2 of 57.964 and 0.5 respectively. Furthermore, school factor like the type of school they want to enroll determines a significant relationship on course preference. In terms of social factor, the source of course information also identifies a significant effect with computed X2 of 103.043 and contingency coefficient of 0.61. Based on the findings, the researcher concludes that all factors affect in the course preference in college. It was supported that family factors, economic factors, social factors and school factors that there is a significant effect on the course preference among selected senior students of high school in Indang, Cavite.

The study entitled " Factors affecting the course preference among selected senior students of high school in Indang, Cavite SY 2005-2006" was conducted in selected secondary schools in Indang, Cavite from November 2005 to January 2006.
