Abstract: HERRERA, MIKE KENNEDY S. Backyard Hog Fattening in Tambo Balagbag, Indang, Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Entrepreneurial Development Project Report. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship major in Crop Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Dr. Irvin dL, Matel. The project was conducted at Barangay Tambo Balagbag, Indang, Cavite from December 2018 to March 2019. The project was conducted for the student entrepreneur to: (1) develop entrepreneurial skills; (2) gain additional knowledge in managing a business; and (3) gain profit from the enterprise. Four weanlings were bought at ROM Piggery in Barangay Tambo Malaki, Indang, Cavite with an initial weight of 18 kg, 18 kg, 19 kg and 20 kg. They were raised for 99 days and attained an average final weight of 98.25 kg. They were sold on dressed weight basis with an average dressed weight of 78.5 kg. A total of 16 bags of feeds were consumed in the project. The average gain in weight of the hogs was 79.50 kg, with a total gain in weight of 318 kg. Four hogs attained gain in weight of 79.50 kg, average daily gain of 803.03 g, total feed consumption of 200 kg, and feed conversion efficiency of 2.52. The project had a total investment of P 42,882.4. The gross sales amounted to P 50,400, giving a net income of P 7,517.6. The return on investment of the project was 17.53 percent. The breakeven point by weight and by price was 67 kg and P 10,720.6, respectively.
