Abstract: DULCE, RANDY M., GARCIA, JEFFREY C. and CHRISTOFER A. QUINONES. Reinforced Concrete Design of Three-Storey Research Center Building. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April, 2002. Adviser: Engr. Marcelino A. Dagasdas, Jr. The built-in capacity of STAAD-III to perform analysis was presented. The complexity of mathematical expressions involving matrix operation and dynamic equation was simplified by using linear Analysis Method. The scope of the problem was limited to the linear behavior of the three-storey reinforced concrete building. The structure was analyzed for combined lateral, seismic and vertical loads. The seismic analysis and other parameters were based on the existing codes and specifications of NSCP 1992. The Ultimate Strength Design (USD) method was adopted for analysis, design and checking of the structural members of linear. The main objective of the study was to analyze and design a reinforced concrete building; to determine the estimated cost of materials; and to present a scaled model of the building. The study revealed that the variation of loadings on the structural members produces section that was different for each other. In order to cope with the different structural members adopted were the largest among those particular sections. In general, safety, economy, and aesthetic aspects were the factors considered for the design.
