Abstract: RUBIA, ALICIA ROGEL, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, March 2000. " Diagnostic Check of Undergraduate Theses in the College of Agriculture of Cavite State University from School Year 1997-1999." Adviser: Mr. Antonio Cinto. This study attempted to diagnose the undergraduate theses made by the undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture in terms of appropriateness of the statistical tools. ABSTRACT Systematic sampling was used to obtain 17 undergraduate theses. These theses were grouped according to course and research design. The most number of undergraduate theses diagnosed came from Farming System (eight), followed by Animal Science (four). Crop Protection. (two) The least were Agronomy, Food Processing, and Horticulture with one each. There were two research designs used: the experimental (fifteen) and the descriptive research(two). A total of 66 parameters from these undergraduate theses were found normally distributed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test. The equality of variances among 66 data were tested using Levene's Test. The results show that 58 parameters were found homogeneous and eight data did not satisfy homogeneity and needed transformation of data. The results of this study show that all 17 undergraduate theses found have used appropriate statistical tools.
