Abstract: ALUZAN, JOCELYN C., BERNEL, MARVIN M., MENDIORO, LOUIE M. Unveiling The Experiences Of Children Ages 9-12 Raised By Teenage Mothers In Selected Barangays In Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Cavite State University-Mam Campus, Indang Cavite Philippines. May 2019. Adviser: Jomito A. Ofracio RN, MAN. This study was conducted to unveil the experiences of children ages 9-12 raised by teenage mothers specifically to explore: the needs, challenges encountered and the Satisfaction of children towards the parenting of his/her mother. This study was conducted on selected Barangays in Indang, Cavite (Kayquit I, Il and III), the said Barangays was chosen as per advice of our co-adviser. The criteria for this study were the following: a.) Children age 9-12 b.)Male/female c.) Raised by teenage mothers d.) Lived in Indang, Cavite. It was identified using Purposive Judgemental Sampling technique, wherein the researchers handpicked the subjects who passed the given criteria. The researchers have chosen ten study participants from the typical population meeting the said criterions; comprising of four male children and 6 female children, with a total of ten chosen participants. Guide Questions were made and was checked by the experts in their field of specialization. This was used in the m-depth semi structured personal interview rendered for three visits. The questionnaire is made of 8 lead questions that correspond to the given objectives of the study. The data gathered shows that there is a difference between the answers of the participants. For the needs it shows that not all the Participants were not able to meet all them needs specifically m Emotional, Health. Physiologic, Nutritional and Educational Needs. In the Case of N10 most of his needs are not provided because of inadequate financial support given by his mother. For the challenges it shows that there are two specific challenges that the children have experienced. In the case of N10. he mentions that the challenges he encountered is poverty and still the cause is Inadequate financial support and jealousy towards other children. For the satisfaction, the rate that was given most of the time is three, four and five. In the case of N10, even though his needs are not well provided he rates her mother three because he is somewhat regretting that her mother had to raised them at the early age. The themes discovered were; In terms of Needs were inadequate food supply, insufficient nutrition, health practices, inadequate school necessities, lack of provision and support, In terms of challenges encountered identified namely: peer envy, In terms of satisfaction rate is Parenting Satisfaction. The themes formulated were under the needs challenges encountered and the satisfaction rate of the chosen participants of the study. The result shows that all of the themes identified greatly affect the experiences of the ten children that are raised by teenage mothers. Basically, adequate financial support contributes to most of their experiences. They mentioned that, most of their needs were not being given because they don’t have enough money and if they have they will use it for the most needed food that is why their other needs were not being provided. However, it reveals that their mothers tend to compensate for the inadequate financial support between their needs and challenges encountered.
