Abstract: DILOY, ZARAH JANE M., MENDOZA MA. ROCHELLE M., Applied Research Ill (General Science Curriculum), Science High School, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite "GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF EMBRYO-CULTURED PHILIPPINE NATIVE VANDA (Vanda lamellata) AS AFFECTED BY DIFFERENT ORGANIC ADDITIVES DURING REFLASKING". Adviser: Dr. Teddy F. Tepora This study entitled "Growth Performance of Embryo-Cultured Philippine Native Vanda (Vanda lamellata) as Affected by Different Organic Additives during Reflasking" was conducted in order to determine the potential of using organic additives in reflasking of embryo-cultured orchids. Specifically, it aimed to determine the effects of using different organic additives on the growth performance of embryo-cultured orchids during reflasking period; to compare the effects of the different organic additives on the growth performance of reflasked orchid protocorm; and to identify the best organic additive that can be used in reflasking of orchid protocorm. The study used four treatments: Treatment 1 (banana), Treatment 2 (avocado), Treatment 3 (papaya), and Treatment 4 (apple). Fruit concentrate was added at the rate of 100 grams. Data on number of leaves, number of roots, length of leaves, and length of roots of the plantlets were gathered. Based on the data, apple was the organic additive which best enhanced the growth of orchid protocorms.
