This study was conducted at Cavite State University Indang, Cavite fom August 2007 to January 2008 to examine potential predictors of academic related stress experienced by college students. In particular, the relationship among coping strategies used by level II regular nursing students their academic performance through obtaining their GPA in their summer class. The study made use of subjective perception of academic stress; reconstruct words in order to come up with uniformed questionnaires for each respondent. Results suggested that academic workloads such as exams, reports; problem focused coping styles serve as potentially important predictors of academic related stress experienced by the said students. The findings suggested that nursing students utilizes the use of problem focused as coping strategies; more effective when it comes to academic related stress. Through obtaining the GPA of level II regular nursing students in the three subjects in their summer class after battery exam, the researchers closely examined relationships and association of academic performance, stress and coping styles. Thus identifying level II regular nursing students' experience with this variables and addressing these variables in practical setting may help nursing students alleviate their experience of academic related stress and have a less stressful, possibly more fulfilling college career.
