Abstract: PEREZ, FAYE HAZEL Gender Differences in Consumer Service Expectation on Selected Health and Wellness Centers in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing Management, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2012. Adviser: Ms. Myrachael S. Nolasco. The study was conducted in selected health and wellness centers in Bacoor, Dasmarinas City, Imus, and Tagaytay City from November 2011 to January 2012. The study aimed to explore and discuss the relationship of gender differences on consumer service expectation on selected health and wellness centers in selected towns of Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to determine the profile of the respondents; determine the most preferred services of the respondents; determine the level of expectation of the respondents in terms of service provider, location, interior and exterior facilities, ambient condition and price; determine the factors affecting the level of expectation of the respondents; determine if there is a significant relationship between the levels of expectation and its factors; determine if there is a significant relationship between the gender of the respondents and their levels of expectation; and determine if there is a significant difference between the levels of expectation based on their gender. Quota sampling method was used to identify the 12 health and wellness centers from selected towns of Cavite (Bacoor, Dasmarinas City, Imus, and Tagaytay City). Mean, rank, frequency count, and percentage were used in assessing the respondents' profile and their most preferred services, while standard deviation was used to discuss the levels of expectation of the respondents. Likert scale was employed to identify the levels Of expectation of the respondents in terms of the service provider, location, interior and exterior facilities, ambient condition, and price. Weighted mean was used to analyze the Likert scale instrument. Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient was used in determining the relationship between the gender of the respondents and their levels of expectation. Mann—Whitney U test was employed to determine if there is any significant difference with the gender of the respondents and their levels of expectation Fifty percent of the respondents were male, and 50 percent was female. Findings of the study revealed that most of the respondents were employees, aged 23 to 30 years old. Body massage was mostly preferred by both male and female respondents among other services offered in health and wellness centers. On the other hand, hair spa and Chinese ventusa were the least preferred services of the male and female respondents, respectively. The respondents had "very high" levels of expectation on the greatest number of indicators in terms of the service provider, location, interior and exterior facilities, ambient condition and price. The result of the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient showed that gender of the respondents had significant relationship on the level of expectation towards the service provider in terms of their knowledge. The study also revealed that there is a significant difference between the gender of the respondents and their levels of expectation towards the service provider's knowledge.
