Abstract: AMORES, MARCHIE FLORES, Contentment and Perceived Productivity of Selected Employees in Public and Private Banks in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. April 2009. Adviser: Ms. Vivian D. Rogando. This study attempted to determine the contentment and perceived productivity of selected employees in public and private banks in Cavite. Specifically this study sought to: 1.) determine the demographic profile of respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, length of service, Educational attainment and position; 2.) determined the contentment level of respondents in terms of service and policies, salary and fringe benefits, interpersonal relations, autonomy and recognition of achievement; 3.) determine the level of perceived productivity of respondents in terms of conscientiousness, reliability, punctuality, responsibility and consistency;4.) determine the difference between contentment and perceived productivity of public and private employees; and 5.) find out the relationship of contentment to perceived productivity of respondents. The study made used of questionnaire lifted and modified from Pareja and Daisy T. Garcia, 2006. Another questionnaire lifted and modified from employee productivity report was used to determine the perceived work performance of the respondents. The sampling technique that was employed in this study was the purposive sampling; in which respondents were chosen based on the criteria set by the researcher Findings of the study revealed that the majority of the ages of respondents are 20-30 years old. Moreover, the gender is dominated by female respondents. The contentment levels of respondents are high specifically toward interpersonal relations. The perceived productivity of respondents is high. However, it was found out that the contentment and perceived productivity of public and private employees has no significant difference.
