Abstract: BELANDRES, JESSICA GALVEZ. Level of Attachment to Parents, Emotional Behavior and Academic Performance of Selected High School Students at Munting Bog National High School, Silang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Wang, Cavite. October 2009. Adviser: Ms. Alma Fatima R. Reyes. The study was designed to find out the levels and correlation of attachment of parents, emotional behavior and academic performance of selected high school students. The descriptive method of research was used in this study. The respondents of the study consisted of two-hundred and thirty nine students. Stratified Sampling was used to identify the number of selected respondents. The result of the statistical analysis indicated that most students received low level of parental attachment. In terms of their emotional behavior, the teenagers have high level of emotional response toward the action of their parents and academic performance. Moreover, the findings showed that students have average level of academic performance. The result revealed that there is a significant correlation in attachment to parents and emotional behavior of students. However, the result indicated that even there is a significant relationship between attachment and emotional behavior, attachment with their parents has no significant connection into their academic performance. The variable of emotional behavior is a stronger predictor of the teenagers' performance than attachment to parents.
