Abstract: DANAO, JOAN S. Level of Demand and Customers' Perception of Fitness Centers in Selected Towns of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing. Cavite State University. April 2012. Adviser: Dr. Florindo C. Ilagan. This study generally aimed to determine the factors affecting the demand for fitness centers in selected towns of Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to (1) determine the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents; (2) determine the perception of respondents towards the fitness centers in selected towns of Cavite; (3) determine the level of demand for fitness centers in selected towns of Cavite; (4) identify the relationship between the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents and level of demand; and (5) identify the relationship between the perception of respondents towards fitness centers and the level of demand. The study was conducted in selected towns of Cavite, namely: Bacoor, Dasmarinas City, and Imus. The respondents in this study were the customers of the fitness center. Two hundred and twenty-nine gym goers participated in the study. Data were gathered using a questionnaire. perception and level of demand were rated using five-point rating scales. Majority of the participants were 20 to 29 years old, single, employed and earned Php 15, 000 and below a month. Customers were found to have a positive perception towards fitness center. The level of demand as perceived by respondents was high. No significant relationship was found between socio-economic characteristics and level of demand and between level of perception and level of demand.
