Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2011: Adviser: Dr. Adolfo C. Manuel Jr. The farm practice was conducted at the Department of Agriculture Tech Gen located at Tres Cruses, Tanza, Cavite for 460 hours. The student was assigned in the production of indigenous vegetables. The main objective of the farm practice was to provide the student with practical experience in the organic production of indigenous vegetables, including vermi compost production. Organic production of indigenous vegetables included bed preparation, field planting, planting with stem cuttings, direct planting, weeding and watering of plants while vermicompost production included collection of substrates, preparation of substrate, transferring of worm to substrate and vermicompost harvesting. In this farm practice, the student also identified various problems associated with the training and proposed possible solutions to each identified problem. He further recommends that other agencies which are promoting environment-friendly production system must be tapped as training centers for the incoming on-the-job training students to gain exposure on organic farming practices.
