DERILO, NORWIN JAY D. and MARQUEZ, JERWIN L. Development of E- learning System in Advanced Algebra for Fourth Year Students of Dasmariñas National High School (DNHS) - MAIN. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. September 2013. Adviser: Mr. Marlon R. Pereña.
The study was conducted to develop an E-learning system for Dasmariñas National High School (DNHS) - MAIN of fourth year high school students that would serve as an additional tool to enhance the quality and learning process in Advanced Algebra subject. Specifically, it aimed to identify the problem through interview and survey, analyze the problem using fishbone diagram, design an E-learning system with the use of use case and class diagram, develop the system with the use of PHP as scripting language, XAMPP, Adobe Flash, and Photoshop for images for making the system educational and interactive; MySQL for databases, and evaluate the system through integration, acceptance, and unit testing. The system provides functionality that allows teacher to manage all the records and information of the students making it secure and easy to retrieve. The system capable of handling accounts of the administrator, teacher, and students of the organization. Furthermore, the system also provides reports. The prototyping development model was used by the proponents as the development methodology. It consists of six (6) phases: planning, analysis, architectural design and prototype analysis and design, prototype construction and prototype testing and evaluation phase. The system underwent a series of testing and evaluation to ensure its accuracy and efficiency. Eighty-five (85) students and fifteen (15) teachers evaluated the system to verify functionalities. The system was evaluated based on the following criteria: accuracy, information in the program, user interaction, and technical aspect. In accordance to the results of the software evaluation, large number of participants rated the system as outstanding which shows that the objectives and requirements of the system were achieved.
