Abstract: PATAM, NEIL PATRICK E. Demographic Profile, Climate Change Awareness and Adaptation Level of Selected Barangays in District III of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2011. Thesis Adviser: Vivian D. Rogando. This study was conducted to determine the demographic profile, climate change awareness and adaptation level of selected barangays in District II of Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to (1) determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms: of age, educational attainment, gender, employment and monthly income; (2) determine the level of climate change awareness; (3) identify the level of climate change adaptation; (4) determine the relationship of demographic profile, level of climate change awareness and level of climate change adaptation. The respondents of the study were 30-60 years old and with 5 years minimum residency in the district. The study had 300 respondents. Convenience sampling was used to identify the appropriate respondents in the study. The study made use of descriptive correlational research design. Qualitative research was also employed. In this study, survey form was used as the main instrument. The statistical measures employed were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, Pearson-R, Spearman Rank and Point Biserial. Another technique in analyzing the data was content analysis where the qualitative response of the respondents was evaluated through analyzing the statements given in the open-ended questions. The findings of the study indicated that most of the respondents belong to the 30-35 age range, obtained college level, female, employed and had a monthly income of Php5,000 and below. Respondents have a high level of climate change awareness which means that they are aware of almost all aspects of climate change including its impact, causes, programs of national and local government and contributions of individuals to lessen climate change. Moreover, respondents have an average level of climate change adaptation which indicates that respondents can adapt to some risks and impact of climate change on himself and to his workplace. The findings of the study revealed that gender, employment and monthly income are significantly related to climate change awareness while age and educational attainment are not related to awareness. Gender and employment are significantly related to climate change adaptation while age, educational attainment and monthly income are not related. Results revealed that climate change awareness is not related to climate change adaptation.
