Abstract: GOZAR, JONELYN LOMUNTAD. Personal Credit Management Practices of Government Employees in Selected Towns in Lowland Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Financial Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Ludivinia F. Victorino. The study was conducted to determine the personal credit management practices of the government employees in selected towns in lowland Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to describe the socio-economic profile of the government employees in selected towns in lowland Cavite; determine the personal credit management practices of government employees in terms of reason on availing loans, reason of choosing specific loans, paying behavior and managing default; determine the degree of implementation of personal credit management practices executed by the government employees in selected towns in lowland Cavite; and determine the level of effectiveness of personal credit management practices employed by the government employees in selected towns in lowland Cavite. The study was conducted in selected towns in lowland Cavite wherein the participants were 250 government employees. Frequency counts, mean, percentage, and standard deviation were used to describe the socio-economic profile of the government employees. Mean was also used to determine the degree of implementation and level of effectiveness of the personal credit management practices of the government employees. Majority of the participants were married, with an average age of 39 years old, high school teacher and with a salary grade of 11 to 15. The participants have four to six family members, with permanent status, college graduates, who have been working as government employees for one to five years and with an average monthly family income of P 19,8260. It also revealed that most of the participants have two to three outstanding personal loans. Moreover, the results of the study revealed that all of the participants have personal credit management practices. Results revealed that the level of implementation of personal credit management practices of government employees was moderately implemented. It means that the Required participants have accomplished/practiced 75 percent of the performance/implementation target. The level of effectiveness of the personal credit management practices of the participants were moderately effective.
