Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Financial Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Estrellita D. Corpuz. A two-month case study was conducted from July 2013 to August 2013 at Panasonic Manufacturing Corporation — Air Conditioner Division located at 102 Laguna Blvd., Laguna Technopark, Sta. Rosa City 4026, Philippines, to analyze the existing inventory management system of the company. The study serves as an initial application of knowledge acquired in her course Business Management, specifically in her major, Financial Management, to the real business world. The business process relative to the company's inventory management was described and discussed in the study, including the problems encountered and recommended solutions. All specific objectives were achieved, including the description of the company's products, the description of the existing inventory management system of the company and analyzed its effectiveness. Data and information were gathered from the records of the firm, and also from some personal interviews and observations of the researcher in her 320-hour stay in the company. Some of the inventory records and data were provided by the Information System Department. Descriptive analysis were used to determine and describe the entire inventory management operations including the planning, scheduling, purchasing, keeping and issuing of necessary materials to the production. The inventory management system was further analyzed by comparing the same ratios the firm is currently using. The comparison of the actual result against the company's business plan was made in the analysis. Results of the study shows that the inventories of the factory are managed effectively and efficiently, even after implementation of new process in the system.
