Abstract: LITA, MARYGOLD C. & VILLAREAL, ANGELO M. Psychometric Properties and Norm of an Indigenous Moral Values Scale for Students in Selected Public High Schools in Upland Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. October 2013. Thesis Adviser: Cecilia B. Banaag, PhD. This study generally aimed to validate a developed morality scale by Bulatao (2012) which can assess level of moral values among students in selected public high schools in upland Cavite. Specifically. this study aimed to determin: (1) test- retest reliability by correlating the first score and the second score in the PPMM; (2) discriminant validity by correlating the score in the PPMM and the academic performance of the students; and (3) norm for high school students in terms of year level and over all norm using z-score and percentile rank. The researchers utilized a descriptive- correlational research method in this study. Stratified random sampling was also used to obtain high school student participants from the six schools in upland Cavite during the AY 2013-2014. Responses from the first and second tests were totaling of 384 students were statistically analyzed. The result shows that the reliability of the test was highly consistent or reliable. In determining the validity, the scale shows that the discriminant validity is high which was not correlated or cannot predict academic performance of the high schools students. Moral values were also found not related with the academic studies of a student. However, a moral value is one of the subjects that a student acquired while the teachers mold students to become morally upright individual. The norm was established for year level and over-all norm using the z-score and percentile rank.
