VILLAPANDO, MARIA SARAH L. "Social Maturity and Life Satisfaction of Selected Students with Deceased Parent at Kaong National High School in Silang, Cavite". Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science Major in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2013. Mrs. Jasmin N. Avellanosa.
The study aimed to determine the social maturity, level of life satisfaction and if there is a relationship between the social maturity and level of life satisfaction among the participants. The study was conducted and administered among eighty one (81) selected high school students with deceased parent in Kaong National High School. Descriptive-correlational research method was used in this study while frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, mean, mode and Spearman's Rho test were used as the statistical treatment. The Social Maturity Assessment by Billy Graham, Ph D. and Life Satisfaction and Spiritual Quotient Assessment by Susie Leonard Weller were used as the instrument to find out the social maturity and level of life satisfaction of the selected students with deceased parents respectively. The study revealed that social maturity and life satisfaction levels of the participants were average and high. Individuals with average level of social maturity are confident, others-centered, and hospitable. Individuals with high level of life satisfaction respect their families; know how to handle emotions, express gifts and creativity at work. The study also revealed that there is a significant relationship between the social maturity to the level of life satisfaction of the participants. The students were advised to guide one another so that their confrontational attitude becomes more evident. Also, the parents should guide their children. The community is recommended provide seminars or workshops related to the growth of one another. The field of Educational Psychology and Guidance & Counseling should provide more researchers about parental death.
