Abstract: DARVIN, ANJANETTE R. Korean Students' Communicative Competence and Its Effects on their Interpersonal Relationships. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, major in Journalism. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Mrs. Lisette D. Mendoza. The study was conducted to determine the relationship between communicative competence of Korean students of Lyceum of the Philippines University in General Trias, Cavite and their interpersonal relationships. Specifically, it aimed to: determine the communicative competence of Korean students in Lyceum of the Philippines University; determine the effects on their interpersonal relationships; identify the relationship of communicative competence and their interpersonal relationships of Korean students of Lyceum of the Philippines University. The study used the descriptive survey method in research in attempt to answer the objectives. Snowball Sampling was used to properly select the participants. The participants of the study were composed of 39 Korean college students from different courses of Lyceum of the Philippines University, General Trias Cavite. Moreover, the researcher pre-tested the questionnaires among Korean students of the same international school to determine the validity and reliability of the instrument. Results showed that most of the participants were average in terms of communicative competence. Findings also revealed that participants gain more positive effects in terms of their interpersonal relationships. Finally, the study proved that there is a significant relationship between communicative competence and interpersonal relationships of Korean students in Lyceum of the Philippines University — General Trias, Cavite.
