Using Slovin's formula and simple random sampling technique, participants were determined which consists of 400 students. The statistical measures employed were percentage and frequency, standard deviation and mean, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient Based on the findings, the majority of the students in General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School have low self-handicapping tendencies. The study also revealed that the students commonly used problem-focused coping strategy and emotion-focused coping strategy. The study also revealed that the students in General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School have a high level of psychological well-being in terms of autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relation with others, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. It was also revealed that the students have a very good academic performance. The study further determined that the two hypotheses were accepted where it was found that there was no significant relationship in general between self-handicapping and coping, and self-handicapping and psychological well-being. Lastly, the other hypothesis was rejected where it was found out that self-handicapping has a significant relationship with academic performance.
