Dwelling Residential Unit. An Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2015. Adviser: Engr. Ronald P. Pena.

A study on the System Design of a Solar-Powered Automated Single Dwelling Residential Unit at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite was conducted to integrate the lessons acquired in the Electrical Engineering program. The study aimed to design a Solar-Powered Automated Single Dwelling Residential Unit; provide the university a
reference for the future researchers; provide an illustration of the behavior of the designed output; and compute the project cost.

The study covered the designing of the automated residential unit in relation to the power generation system which includes sixteen solar panels, a four- battery system, one inverter, and a charge controller. The design showed the computation of power required and if it can supply an automated house.

The lighting layout and the lower layout were obtained by calculating the appropriate number of luminaires and the needed projected loads of the residential unit. The number of the panels, batteries, inverter, and charge controller was obtained using the total demand of the residential unit. The roof area of 228.814 m can accommodate the calculated number of panels.
