MORALES, JESSICA-AN M. Assessment of Water Supply System in Pulo, Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Engr. Cesar C. Carriaga.

The study was conducted at Pulo, Indang, Cavite from July 2014 to February 2015. Specifically, it aimed to: 1) assess the functional elements of the water supply system; 2) determine the present water demand; 3) project the water demand in the next five years; and 4) evaluate the quality of water supplied in the areas.

Pulo Sibol Waterworks Association (PSWA) has two functional elements involved in the study: the source of water supply and the distribution system. Pulo Maya Waterworks (PIW), on the other hand, has four functional elements, namely: the source of water supply, storage, treatment, and distribution. The sources of water for both systems are springs.

Barangay Pulo has a current total population of 1,089, but only 881 persons (80.9%) are serviced by the water supply system of the barangay, having an average use of 144.52 liters of water per capita per day.

The projected domestic water demand for the year 2019 in Pulo was 235,947.66 liters, and the existing water supply system is not sufficient to sustain the projected water demand for the next five years.

Water samples tested for the physical and chemical analysis passed the standard requirements of the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW). However, majority of the water samples from the residential area were not been subjected to microbiological analysis of PNSDW.
