CABALBAG, GENNEROSE M., DELA PENA, RUTH JEZERENE G., AND NUESTRO, MA. THERESE BIANCA S. Proficiency and Applicability Level of Competency Skills of BS Psychology Graduates Batch 2014: Basis for Curriculum Enhancement Program. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2016. Thesis Adviser: Vivian R. Ramachandran, MA This research study aimed to determine the proficiency and applicability level of competency skills of BS Psychology graduates’ batch 2014 of Cavite State University Main Campus which may be a basis for curriculum enhancement program. Particularly, it aimed to describe 1.) the participants' demographic profile in terms of age, gender, educational attainment, and current job position; 2.) the proficiency level of psychology graduates; 3.) the applicability level of their competency skills; and 4.) to identify things that can be recommended for the enhancement of the BS Psychology curriculum. Descriptive method was used in the study. To gather 51 BS Psychology graduates’ batch 2014 who were all currently working in any field of Psychology as participants, a purposive sampling technique was used. Self-made questionnaire was used for data gathering of their demographic profile and their proficiency and applicability level. In statistical treatment of data, mean, frequency and percentage were utilized. Based on the findings, this study was able to identify the participants' demographic profile, level of competency skills, proficiency level, and applicability level. The BS Psychology graduates batch 2014 were in the bracket age of 20-25, mostly were female, least of them had Master's degree and most of them worked as Human Resources personnel. They had a high proficiency level and very applicable level with the total scores of 2.50 and 2.62. Having the high proficiency and applicability level, they excelled more in technical competency which involves Human Resources development and management tasks and IT/technological tasks and in interpersonal competency. With a high proficiency level means that the participants were proficient and excellent with their current work because they were trained during their school days. With a very applicable level means that they were able to apply and practice their skills because of the experience and learning they obtained during their school days. Based on the results, having more practicum hours during their On-the-Job Training, additional extra- curricular activities, and additional elective subjects are highly recommended.
