This study was conducted to determine the (1) socio- economic condition of coconut farmers in Cavite, (2) different marketing practices employed by coconut farmers, (3) relationship of marketing practices to income of farmers, and (4) problems encountered in marketing coconut products.

Four towns were selected as research areas and 100 respondents were included in the study.

The average age of farmers was 54 years and majority reached the intermediate grades. Most of them were owner- operators whale average size gf farm was two hectares. Their average gross income was P12,0CO).

Farmers followed several presale practices before marketing coconut produce. Coconut farmers employed husking, selling and delivery, splitting, shelling and drying for copra producers.

Gross and net income of farmers were not dependent upon the method and place of sale employed by coconut farmers. Gross income was related with the frequency of sale, market outlet, forms of coconut marketed and channel of distribution.

Net income was found not to be affected by the last four mentioned marketing practices. Fluctuation of prices was the most marketing problem of the farmers. Poor condition of feeder roads in the locality was the least common problem,
