The purpose of this study was to determine the awareness and adoption of the certain components of ASEAN Work Plan on Education (WPE) by public and private school administrators in Cavite. This study used descriptive method with the questionnaire as the main instrument in gathering data. The participants of the study were 312secondary school administrators from the municipalities that have the highest number of schools such as Dasmarifias, Bacoor, Silang, Gen. Trias and Trece.
Majority of the participants were married, with a mean age of 40; many were BS degree holders followed by those with MA/MS units; had an average years of experience of almost eight years among public secondary schools while five years for private school administrators. Many of them were head teachers and principals and majority had permanent position.
Public and private secondary school administrators were both moderately aware of the ASEAN Work Plan on Education, 2011-2015 Priorities 2A, 2B, and 3 while somewhat aware for Priorities 1 and 4.
In terms of level of adoption of the ASEAN Work Plan on Education (WPE) 2011-2015, public and private secondary school administrators frequently adopted the ASEAN WPE, 2011-2015" priority 2A and 2B while occasionally adopted for Priorities 1,3 and 4.
With regards to problems encountered, foremost problem was the lack of knowledge about the ASEAN WPE. Second was lack of financial resources to promote the Work Plan priorities. The last three problems encountered were a) lack of interconnectedness and regional resources, b) lack of school facilities to hold meetings and events, c) lack of time to prepare or hold meetings and events.
