Torreda This study aimed to determine the level of n acy and commitment of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender couples in selected areas of Cavite. This also aimed to define the relationship of intimacy and commitment. This study used a sequential explanatory mixed method through quantitative and qualitative study incorporating the statistical treatment of Spe an's rho Coefficient of Correlation and thematic analysis. This study used a self-constructed intimacy questionnaire, and an adapted and modified commitment questionnaire, which was validated and was tested for inter-item consistency. A semi structured interview as also conducted in the study. The findings showed that there is a positive correlation between intimacy and commitment of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender couples. Also, there are roles being supporter, decision maker, companion, family and emotional caretaker. Generally, this study showed that intimacy and commitment goes hand-in-hand in maintaining a long lasting relationship. There are also important roles in order to handle the relationship.
