The case study was conducted at Circuit Solutions Inc. located at Belvedere Tower San Miguel Ave. Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The purpose is to describe the describes the profile and operation of the company, identify the purchasing practices used by the company, analyze the purchasing practices using SWOT analysis and identify the problems encountered by the company in terms of purchasing and recommend feasible solutions. Primary data and information were gathered through personal interviews with the employees of Circuit Solutions Inc. such as the Operation Manager, purchasing staffs, warehouse personnel and sales persons. Personal observation of the activities and hands on involvement in purchasing department were likewise done. Secondary data were obtained from the records of the company, official website, reading materials and other related study. Descriptive method was used to describe the process, components and practices in purchasing of the company. Figures and tables were used to presented the facts and information The company owned by Mr. Roel S. Tan is operating for 20 years now. It is a business and consulting technology solutions provider to medium and large enterprises.
Purchasing practices of the company were implemented for efficient and effective operations of the company. There factors that are very vital in this process, selecting the suppliers which consider the products, price, terms and delivery system of the suppliers. Setting the price and payments are depends on the relationship of the company towards its suppliers. Delivery has a big factor for completion of the projects of the company. This should be given focus because it will affect the whole operation of the company. The company also uses Just-in-Time system purchasing materials to be used by the company.
