<br/><br/> The study, "Effect of Gibberellic Acid on the Growth and Fiber Yield of Ramie" (Boehmena nivea, Linn) , was conducted from October 1979 to January 1980 at the<br/>Plant Science Experimental field of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. The study aimed to find out the effect of the different concentrations of gibberellic acid (GA ) on the height of ramie, weight Of the stalks, weight of fresh ribbon and weight of the dried fiber.<br/>	The study consisted of three blocks with four treatments . Each treatment consisted of different GA concentrations such as T1 - 50 ppm GAY T 2 — 100 ppm GA3 , T3 - 150 ppm GA3 , T4 - 200 ppm GA3 , and T 5 (Control) . <br/>	Results showed that 200 ppm (T ) of GA3 produced the best with regard to the growth and yield of ramie fiber. This was evident in all the data gathered as : height of the plants, fresh weight of defoliated stalks ; weight of fresh ribbon and weight of dried fiber. The rest of the treatments (T1 — 50 ppm GAY T 2 - 100 ppm GA3, % - 150 ppm GA ) however, produced better results compared to the control (T5 ) .<br/>
