DIGO, FELIX y PENANO, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April 1990. "Intercropping Corn with Mungbean, Peanut, and Bush Sitao in Wet Season Culture". Adviser: Dr. Eusebio V Alava,
The study, "Intercropning Corn with MUngbean, Peanut, and Bush Sitao in Wet Season Culture" was conducted at the Experimental area of Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, from June to September 1989. Three leguminous crops such as mvngbean, peanut, and bush sitao were used as intercrops to the main crop. The treatments were replicated three times and arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Results obtained from the study indicated that corn intercropped with bush sitao significantly surpassed all the mungbean and peanut intercropped plots, although the use 'of the latter failed to show significant effects on the growth and yield of the main crop. The results showed the difference between inter-cropping,nd monoculture treatment. Corn planted without intercrop produced the tallest plants as compared to those intercropped one. The results of this study showed 'that growing corn intercropped with bush sitao is advantaged as for it can increase production or income per unit area.
