The study was conducted from June 2015 to March 2016 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The general objective of the study was to develop a record management system for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center. It specifically aimed to identify the encountered problems through survey and interview, analyze the identified problems using fishbone diagram, design, develop, and evaluate the system using unit testing, integration test, and acceptance testing.
The study contained four (4) modules including account management module whereby user can create, update, and delete an account; record module in which all the records like academic programs offered by its level of accreditation, ten areas of evaluation whereby each contains a benchmark statement and other necessary records; communication module which includes the proper dissemination of information; and report module that includes all the generated records of the system.
The method used to develop the system was Agile software development methodology. It includes gathering of requirements, planning, development sprint, user review, and retrospective. The system was developed with the use of different development tools such as NetBeans IDE 8.0.1, Java as programing language, Sublime text editor, PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL for the database, Adobe Photoshop CS6 for the designing of icons, pictures, and layout, Microsoft Word 2010 for documentation, and Microsoft Visio 2007 for creating diagrams. The system was evaluated by a total of 25 respondents evaluated by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation body containing the director, staff, coordinator, dean, and I.T. professionals based on its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and probability. The results were tabulated, analyzed, and statistically treated using mean and standard deviation. Based on the results, the system was assessed as excellent which proves that the objectives and requirements of the system were achieved can be a solution to the identified problems of the clients.
