The study was conducted to evaluate the growth and yield performance of ginger under different Plant densities and intercropping treatments. It further aimed to find optimum row space and best vine intercrop in terms of yield quality and economy of Production.

The experiment was arranged in a split randomized complete block design. Plant density or row space represented the main treatment and intercropping pattern as subtreatments. All treatments were replicated three times.

Growth and yield of the main Crop ginger were evaluated in terms of height, leaf area index, number of Productive rhizome shoot and weight of rizhomes. The performance of the different intercrops was analyzed based on leaf area index, weight and number Of marketable and non-marketable Pods for string beans and snap bean plants,

Results stowed that intercropping treatments Significantly affected the fresh weight of ginger rhizomes and leaf area index of cucumber, Other observations such as number of rhizome shoot, height of ginger, number’ and Weight of marketable and non-marketable pods were found to be insignificantly affected by Plant density and

Intercropping treatments, However ginger which were planted at closer row interval favored higher yield for ginger monoculture.

In terms of net return, monoculture ginger planted at closer row spaces produced the highest net -profit per hectare.
