<br/><br/> <br/>This study, "Effects of Different Plant Stalks on the Storage Quality of Some Fruits and Vegetables" was conducted at the residence of the author from December 1986 to January 1987, The objective of the study was to determine the effects of some local plant stalks on the storage quality and freshness of some fruits and vegetables,.<br/><br/>The study made use of the completely randomized design (CRD). There were four treatments and three replications used. The tomatoes, chicos, ampalaya and banana were stored with and without plant stalks using banana, gabi, and barak stalks. For comparison, fruits and vegetables, stored at ambient temperature were included and served as control.<br/><br/>Results showed that the longest storage life of the stored fruits and vegetable, with the exemption of ampalaya, could be observed in banana stalks with the mean storage life of 23.07, 3.47 and 11 days, respectively, while those of the control had the mean storage life of 18.73, 2.33 and 7.33 days, respectively.<br/>
