Cubillo A study was conducted among Grade 7 students in selected National High School in Tagaytay City, Cavite to compare their level of involvement on Philippine Traditional Games and Video Games. Specifically, the study described the profile of Grade 7 students; determined the types of Philippine Traditional Games and video games that are popular among Grade 7 students; determined how frequent Grade 7 students play Philippine Traditional games and video games; determined the difference in frequency of playing Philippine Traditional Games and video gaming frequency of Grade 7 students; and established the relationship of the profile of Grade 7 students to their frequency of playing Philippine Traditional games and video games frequency. The study utilized descriptive research design; A total of 335 grade 7 students from Four (4) National High Schools in Tagaytay City, Cavite participated in this study. Descriptive statistical tools, Z-test and Chi-square test were used to answer the objectives of the study. Findings showed the most grade 7 students in selected national high schools in Tagaytay City, Cavite were 13-14 years old with daily school allowance of Php51.00 to Php70.00 and generally belong to low family income bracket. The most popular Philippine Traditional Games played by Grade 7 students were Bang-sak, Pogs, Touch-taya. Patintero, Taguan, Sipa (game of kick), Luksong Lubid, Langit-lupa. Ten-twenty, Tumbang preso, Agawang sulok and Piko (Hopscotch). On the other hand, the most popular type of video game among Grade 7 students in Tagaytay City was Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, Shooter Games, Puzzle Games and Social Games. Findings revealed that grade 7 student from selected National High School in Tagaytay City were more involved in Video Games than Philippine Traditional Games. Test statistics showed that age of respondents significantly influenced the Level of involvement of grade 7 students in Philippine Traditional game and video games. Younger grade 7 students, aged 13-14 years old were more involved in Philippine Traditional games and video games than older grade 7 students. Moreover, male and female pupils differed significantly as to the level of involvement in Philippine Traditional games and video games. Even we have more participant of female; the male grade 7 students were more involved in playing Philippine Traditional games and video games that female grade 7 student. Overall, a finding showed that technology is rising over Philippine Traditional games, playing video games is more prominent among young children in most areas of Tagaytay City, Cavite.
