The study was conducted in Cavite State University — Main Campus from 2018 to March 2019 to determine the self-efficacy, academic stress, and social adjustment of Senior High School STEM Graduates enrolled in Cavite State University — Campus. Specifically, this study aimed to determine: 1) the level of self-efficacy; 2) el of academic stress in terms of pressure from the study, workloads, worry about self-expectation, and despondency; 3) the level of social adjustment; and 4) the t relationship between self-efficacy and academic stress, self-efficacy, and academic stress and social adjustment.
The study covered 155 participants specifically the first year Applied Mathematics and Biology students. The participants were selected using purposive. This study used quantitative design and Spearman Rank Correlation in g the relationship between the variables. To know the given variable, the adapted survey questionnaires. The questionnaire obtained the information needed in the study. The questionnaire was divided into three parts. The first on self-efficacy, composed of 10-items questionnaire by Schwarzer (1995) part concentrate on academic stress, composed of 16-items questionnaire by et al_ (2011). The last part was focused on social adjustment with 26- items.
Based on the findings, the researchers found out that the participants have a high of self-efficacy, neutral level of academic stress, and average level of social adjustment. It was found out that there is no significant relationship between self-efficacy and academic stress. On the other hand, there was a relationship between self-efficacy adjustments. In addition to that, there was no significant relationship between stress and social adjustment.
