People spend a lifetime in a job that provides an income to support their families and use this for the payment of their house, their children's education, basic necessities, and other expenditures. The study aimed to compare the amount of pension apportioned before and after the implementation of increase as well as the amount saved by the retirees. Moreover, the study sought to assess the effects of pension increase on financial apportionment and savings of retirees. It was carried out among the retirees of Social Security System — Tagaytay branch. Specifically, this was conducted in cities of General Trias, Trece Martires, and Tagaytay as well as the municipalities of Silang, Indang, Alfonso, Arnadeo, Mendez, and General Emilio Aguinaldo from August 2018 to May 2019. A multistage sampling technique was utilized to select the participants. Furthermore, using Wilcoxon signed rank test, it was found that the amount of pension apportioned and saved were significantly different after the increase in pension. In addition, simple linear regression revealed that an increase in pension had significant effects on the financial apportionment and savings of retirees except for savings in paluwagan. It was concluded that there are other possible factors that may affect the change in financial apportionment and savings of retirees aside from pension increase. Thus, it is recommended that the proposed increase in 2020 be implemented because an increase in pension is found to be of great help to the retirees.
