Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2006. Advisers: Mrs. Evelyn M. del Mundo, R.N., and Dr. Josefina R. Rint.
This study was conducted at Tanza Family General Hospital, Tanza, Cavite from January to March 2005 which aimed to identify the factors associated with appendicitis for the purpose of providing information to correct some misconceptions about it. The project was developed after doing a Purposive Sampling Method among thirty out of 100 admitted patients in Tanza Family General Hospital who agreed to be interviewed with regards to their lifestyle and history of appendicitis.
Using the Chi Square Test of Homogeneity, the results showed that appendicitis was not associated to age, sex, level of activity, and season when the patients were diagnosed with appendicitis. Urinary tract infection and ingestion of seedy foods were significantly associated with appendicitis.
