DINO , IVY CASTOR. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2001." Growth and Yield Performance of Three Heading Lettuce Varieties Under Automated Greenhouse Conditions". Adviser: Celso S. Crucido. The study was conducted at the Automated Greenhouse of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from November 2000 to January .200.1. The study aimed to determine the growth and yield of three heading lettuce varieties- under automated greenhouse conditions and to identify the varieties which have-good-performance. A Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used in the study. There were three treatments which represent varieties such as: Treatment 1- Georgia, Treatment 2-General, T3- Cal K 1.6. -Significant --differences among varieties were observed with regards to the number of days from transplanting to head initiation, number of days from transplanting to head harvesting, weight of marketable head per plot, average weight per head, circumference head, computed yield per hectare, and consumer rating. On the other hand, insignificant results were observed with regards to compactness rating of head and weight of non-marketable head. Results revealed that Georgia surpassed other varieties tested in terms of yield quality and quantity. Based on maturity, Cal K16 was found to be desirable since it matured ahead of the other varieties.
