A farm practice training was conducted in Cabuco, Trece Martirez City from August 1981to February, 1985. This aimed to increase the farmer’s income through proper way and usage of fertilizer on mongo and peanut production; to put into actual practice what we have learned in school by working together with the farmer cooperator and to develop the skills in handling the project and also let farmers use high yielding varieties. An area of 10,000 square meter field was thoroughly prepared three weeks before the planting of mongo and peanut. One bag of fertilizer ammonium phosphate (16-20-0) was applied to mongo and another one bag of complete fertilizer (14-14-14) was applied to peanut. Planting of mongo was done by broadcasting the seed in the field on August 17, 1984 while planting of peanut was done on the furrows on October 1, 1984. Mongo seeds germinated five days after planting while peanut germinated four days after planting. Weeding for peanut was done sixteen days after planting and followed by hilling-up cultivation after fifteen days. Harvesting of mongo was done in October 27, 31 and November 3, 1984 while harvesting peanut was done on February 8, 1985.
