This Farm Practice Training, "Increasing the Yield of Peanut Using Modern Cultural Management Practices" was conducted in Bo. Limbon, Indang, Cavite from October 1985 to January 1986. Its main objective was to enable the student to put into practice his technical know-how in maximizing the production of peanut through this farm practice. A 5,000 sq. m. cultivated land was applied with complete fertilizer directly in the furrows at the rate of 100 kgs. Two to three seeds were sown in the furrows with a distance of 24 cms apart. It was done on the 15th day of October 1985. Germination took place five days after planting and was almost complete ten days after. Weeding as well as spraying of insecticides on the affected plants was employed at the early stage of the growing period. Cultivation was done-twice. The first cultivation was off-barring and was done four weeks after planting. This was followed by hilling-up cultivation second week after the first cultivation. Harvesting was done 110 days after planting on January 29-31, 1986 and was immediately followed by marketing.
