The project was conducted at the back of the Multi-purpose Training Center, DSAO, Indang, Cavite from September 1986 to February 1987. The project, "Orchard Development Through Organic Farming", aimed to introduce the development of orchard using organic fertilizer. This enabled the farm practice student to put into practice the knowledge that he have gained from the classroom. A 1,632 square meter area with 272 one year old coffee plants were used in this project. The activities started by preparing 14 day compost. Preparation of 14 day compost was done in two weeks. Occasional weeding was done to control the weeds for competition in absorption of nutrients of the coffee plants. After the preparation, the fertilizer application was done by bond placement of localized method at the rate of 2.5 kilograms per coffee. After two months of application, the plants were observed to have produced large dark green leaves and thick stem. At the end of the project, the farmer maximized the use of organic fertilizer that gave the same nutrients needed by the plants like commercial fertilizers do and the student gained experience in developing- the orchard using low cost fertilizer at the same time obtained the proper management practices in actual field work
