The project was conducted to determine the cost of producing 200 heads broiler and to know the different management practices involved in broiler raising.
Day-old chicks were placed in a well-cleaned and disinfected brooder, provided with electric bulbs and well-covered with empty sacks.
Chicks were initially fed in empty clean cement bags and were shifted to feeding trough. Fresh, clean drinking water was made available at all times.
Strict hygiene and sanitation as well as proper feeds and feeding and good management was followed in the project.
This management was being practiced to raise a high percentage of healthy vigorous birds at the end of the brooding period as well as throughout the cycle of production.
