The Farm Practice entitled " Production of Corn Intercropped with Bush Sitao under Bancod Condition" was conducted at Bancod, Indang, Cavite from September to November, 1990. The project aimed to provide information to farmers on the production of corn intercropped with bush sitao and for the student to gain knowledge on corn production through actual exposure to farming system. A 1,500 square meters field was plowed and harrowed twice and later planted to corn and bush sitao. Occurence of plant pest on both crops were observed one-half months after planting, hence malathion at the rate of five tablespoon per 16 liters of water was sprayed as control measure. Spraying was repeatedly done at seven days' intervals until the pest were eliminated. Corn was harvested at different dates depending upon the ability of corn to mature. Bush sitao, on the other hand, were harvested when the plant attained marketable size and pods were filled up. The total yield obtained from 1,500 square meters land was 1,700 green corn ears and 450 kilograms of bush sitao. The total sales amounted to P 4,375.00 from both crops. After deducting all expenses, a net income of P1,903.00 was realized.
